Glamgal news

July 30, 2006

About a month ago I attended a writer's conference in Pennsylvania (Pennwriter's) where I met so many fascinating women and men that it occured to me that I didn't just want this to be a once a year event.
What was the draw?
Aside from being writers, we were all baby boomers, some thoroughly engaged in a new journey (post small children) and some just entering that time in their lives and looking for direction.
What we all had in common was a passion for living and exploring and learning.
At the same conference I met agent Evan Fogelman. Over many bites of lasagne and a few glasses of wine, we came to the same conclusion. The baby boomer generation (he is one too) is inspirational, aspirational and more than anything else...a funloving group of people to whom age is just an annoying number. What matters most is how you feel about yourself. Kind of in the vein of "Fifty is the new forty" credo.
And that's when the condept of Glamgal was born.
Glam as in feeling glam (not Hollywood glamorous) but your inner glam. And gal because that's who most of the baby boomers are.
So, in that vein, send me ispirational, aspirational stories of your glam gal. I intend to keep writing, with a sense of humor, about the glam life, but I also want to tell stories about women who have made dramatic changes in their lives, women who have challenged themselves, women who inspire. Email me at glamgal.judith@gmail.com And keep abrest of my travels on my blog at www.glamgal.typepad.com
